At Daawat Indian Restaurant, food isn't just something we serve - it's something we feel. It's a memory, a celebration, a slice of home. Our story began in 2013 in the peaceful town of Maleny, QLD, when a Gujrati family, far from India, started cooking for friends, colleagues, and community during gatherings and festivals.

These feasts became so loved that they were affectionately called "Daawat" - the Hindi word for grand feast. It wasn't just the food people remembered, but the feeling. So, when the time came to open a restaurant, the name had already been chosen by our community.

In Maleny, we opened our first restaurant with a simple mission: to recreate the warmth and joy of those homemade meals and share the heart of Indian hospitality. In 2024, we brought Daawat to Brisbane - carrying the same passion and soul into every dish.

Today, we specialize in authentic Gujrati Kathiyawadi, and classic Indian Restaurant, crafted from recipes passed down through generations. Each dish tells a story - one of tradition, culture, and love.

As a family-owned local business, Daawat is more than just a restaurant - it's a place to belong. Whether you're craving mom's dal tadka or introducing someone to the magic of Indian spices, you're always welcome at our table.

Come, be part of our daawat - a true celebration of Indian flavors and heartfelt connections.
